Just got a job, they are paying me fully for my hourly wadge, meaning that taxes are all up to me.
Dont know how to go about that, other than save 40% of my paycheck for the taxes, but other than that...clueless
What do other freelancers do about their taxes?

Re: Taxes
Tue, October 3, 2006 - 9:11 AMI would love to know about this too. I was an office geek for years and it was all straight-forward and taken care of for me. But this year, I went freelance and am afraid I'll get hit with a tax bill next year.
Anyone know about when we should be charging sales tax too? -

has all the answers.
Bottom line is make sure you write off everything and anything to bring your taxes down.
Expect to pay 10% or more.
So as an example $4,000 if you made $40,000 and are smart with deductions.

From what I understand, you're supposed to charge sales tax for anything physical, even just a CD with backup files on it, but I could be wrong...
